The community of Mullica Township is mourning the tragic loss of Alexander Oswald, 33, who was killed in a motorcycle crash Sunday evening in Egg Harbor City.
According to authorities, the fatal collision occurred at approximately 5:58 p.m. on May 17 at the intersection of Route 30 and New York Avenue. Investigators reported that Oswald was traveling westbound on Route 30 when his motorcycle was struck by an eastbound vehicle under circumstances that remain under investigation.
Emergency responders from multiple agencies, including local police, fire departments, EMS crews, and the New Jersey State Police, responded quickly and began providing emergency assistance at the scene. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, Oswald suffered catastrophic injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities stated that the driver of the eastbound vehicle, a 21-year-old man from Atlantic City, sustained injuries and was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Crash Unit and the Egg Harbor City Police Department continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, including possible contributing factors and roadway conditions.
