Ashley “Calvert” Adams Death, Keytesville Obituary: Killed in Motorcycle Crash Near Chariton River Bridge

A tragic motorcycle crash in Chariton County has left one woman dead and another man seriously injured following a late-night accident near the Chariton River bridge, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Authorities said the crash occurred around 11:20 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, along Highway 24 approximately three miles east of Keytesville. Investigators reported that a 2011 Harley-Davidson motorcycle traveling eastbound ran off the roadway for reasons that remain under investigation, ejecting both riders.

The passenger, identified as Ashley “Calvert” Adams, 43, of Keytesville, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after midnight by Chariton County Deputy Coroner Lisa Benner. Loved ones are mourning the loss of Adams, who reportedly leaves behind four children.

The 47-year-old driver from Brookfield sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to University Hospital for medical treatment.

Officials said the motorcycle was totaled in the crash and removed from the scene by Skins Auto Body of Salisbury. Multiple agencies responded to assist, including the Chariton County Sheriff’s Department, Chariton County Ambulance, Salisbury First Responders, and the Keytesville Fire Department.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash remains ongoing.
