MOBILE, Ala. — Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting that claimed the life of Ruger Riptay early Monday morning in the 1100 block of O’Donnell Street in Mobile.
According to the Mobile Police Department, officers responded shortly before 2 a.m. to reports of gunfire near O’Donnell Street and Quigley Street. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim outside a residence suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. While police have not formally released the victim’s identity, family members and social media tributes have identified him as Ruger Riptay.
Investigators also confirmed that four additional victims — three women and one man — arrived at local hospitals with gunshot injuries believed to be connected to the incident. Authorities said the injuries were considered non-life-threatening, and all victims were reported to be in stable condition after receiving treatment.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under active investigation. Detectives are reviewing witness statements, surveillance footage, and physical evidence collected from the scene in an effort to determine what led to the violence. No arrests have been announced, and officials have not publicly identified any suspects.
